On Saturday 16th June 2018, I left the house with only a handbag (any new mum will share my excitement at stepping out of the door without a rucksack stuffed full of nappies, snacks and toys!) and headed down to London for the ITI's "One Day In..." event. The day was set to be fascinating, with talks from Chris Durban, Lynne Murphy and a whole host of fellow colleagues, as well as offering the chance to network while enjoying a slice of cake and a glass of fizz. This year's ITI Awards were also presented throughout the day and I'm beyond thrilled to share the news that I scooped a prize too: the John Hayes Prize 2018, awarded for the best performance in the MITI translation assessment. It still hasn't quite sunk in yet, despite knowing for several weeks in advance!
