Teaching

I love to teach – any age and any ability. I am motivated by watching my students have a light-bulb moment. Hearing "Oh, that makes sense now!" is music to my ears. Get in touch if you want to hear more.

One-to-one language lessons

 

In today's fast-paced world, it can sometimes be tricky to find language lessons that fit around your schedule and that are perfectly tailored to your learning needs and aims. Lessons are either held in my home in Corby or can be arranged over Skype if that is more suitable.

I take pride in designing a series of lessons to build on any existing knowledge you may have, while developing the skills you really want to use on a day-to-day basis. After all, if your primary aim is to master French for business purposes, there is little point learning how to write a beautifully crafted film review. Or maybe you have a holiday home in Spain and you want to be able to chat to your neighbours – in this case, we'd make sure you were happy chatting about sport, current affairs, the weather, etc.

Private tutoring

 

I also offer private tutoring sessions to help those students who may need more specific help. I cover the following subjects:

  • French

  • German

  • Spanish

  • English language

  • English literature

 

I cover a variety of ages from primary school through to A-levels, and beyond. When tutoring, I first determine where the student needs particular help and work together with the child's parents (and school where appropriate) to devise a tailor-made learning programme. I use a variety of activities to keep children stimulated throughout our session and often provide homework suggestions (that are by no means obligatory!).
